Learn moreFrequently Asked Questions
Is the cat-cow stretch safe during pregnancy?
Cat-cow is generally considered safe during pregnancy and is often recommended to relieve back pain. However, avoid deep arching in the cow position during the third trimester. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any exercise during pregnancy.
How often should I do the cat-cow stretch?
The cat-cow stretch can be done daily. It is most beneficial when performed in the morning to loosen a stiff spine, during work breaks to counter prolonged sitting, and before other exercises as a warm-up.
Can the cat-cow stretch help with sciatica?
Cat-cow can help with some types of sciatica by gently mobilizing the spine and reducing muscle tension. However, if your sciatica is caused by a disc herniation, the flexion phase (cat) could worsen symptoms. Consult a physiotherapist to determine if this exercise is appropriate for your specific case.
